Lexington Touchdown Club

From 2002-2006, my oldest son, Andrew, played football for Lexington Middle School and then Lexington High School. He graduated as a two-year letterman, playing on the offensive line. While watching the home football games, I was joined on the 20-yard-line by some of my best friends: Eddie Gooding, Richard Whitmire, Jay Tompkins, Milton Clark, and David Lance. We called ourselves 'The 20 Yard Line Club" and had a banner created for the 2006 season.

After the 2006 season, Eddie and I began talking about the creation of a Lexington Touchdown Club, which would strengthen relationships between Lexington Youth Football, the Lexington middle schools, and Lexington High School. With the support of the Lexington Athletic Booster Club, which supports all Lexington High sports, and the high school administration, Eddie and I formed the Lexington Touchdown Club. Jimmy Hood agreed to be the club's treasurer.
