Sunday School Class
Vicki and I joined Lexington Baptist Church, Lexington, SC in 1991, just after moving to Lexington. We have always enjoyed a passion for Sunday School or small group discipleship. In 2000, we joined with four other couples to begin a new co-ed adult Bible Study class on Sunday mornings. Today, that class has grown to include almost 150 adults with an average Sunday morning attendance of more than 80. Some of those members serve in other areas, on Sunday mornings, like prayer ministry, usher ministry, and children and youth ministry. Our class is built around the call of all disciples of Christ to love and serve both God and others at all costs.

Personally, my own spiritual journey is in keeping with Christ's directive to pick up our individual cross and die to everything the world calls important. My life is not about collecting Earthly treasures, but do all that I can - even as lonely as it can sometimes be - to completely put others before self. It's the goal, and only through a complete dependence on God is it remotely possible. The world calls us down to its level - a level of pain, selfishness, disease, and slop. I know this quest is a two-steps-forward and one-step-backward journey, but it is a journey on which I desire to be faithful.
